Everybody’s headed for their summer digs, and my back yard is in the flight paths. What a treat!!
The chickadees are such frequent fliers that they’re coming to the feeders with me sitting 10 feet away.
This little hummingbird–a rarity in my inner-city neighborhood–flitted by the front window in mid-afternoon.
And the yellowthroat, whom I’ve never seen before, hopped and danced through the grass for half an hour before the woodthrush bounced in for some dancing of her own around the hellebores.
Meanwhile, the downy has found the courage to hold his own when the sparrows descend on his suet feeder.
